The second edition of the Nebraska Pop Festival is set for next month and we though of giving a shout about it. Lot's of fresh independent pop bands (36 in total) will participate from 15th till 19th of September, with a pre festival show on Saturday August 29th. With acts from 13 different states and some guest bands from Europe and Canada, it is definetly worth checking out if you are in the area. So, we kept our promise (to ourselves mostly) and yesterday night we headed downtown to Bios for the Brooklyn girls. Our timing was perfect as we made it just in time for a quick drink (having missed both supporting acts; The Callas and Le Page) before Au Revoir came on stage. Another year, another Ejekt festival at the south of Athens. The venue and organization of the festival was quite good this year. If only there was a bit more audience attending (but the lack of a rock audience in Athens is a big issues which I'm not going to touch).It all started off with White Lies on stage. Well..due to unforseen factors, we didn't make it to Monika's live yesterday. Hopefully we'll at least make it to today's first day of Ejekt Festival. Legendary Pixies are headlining and along with them we'll catch Starsailor as well. But the other two bands are the ones that we're really going for. So we finally made it downtown for yesterday's live by PBPH. Before the "main event" however, there were 2 supports to be "served". First up were Flakes, an indie punk/rock/pop band from Patra (and a touch of UK). To be honest, we were happily surprised by their energy and sound on stage. We were all set and hyped about seeing Lindstrom yesterday downtown at Bios. Unfortunately, Lindstrom wasn't so hyped himself. We were already at the bar around 22.30 (with the live announced to kick-off around 23.00). Two and a half hours later and not even the support group (Fantasitkoi Ixoi) were on stage...To be precise, at 01.20 the stage was still closed. I have no idea what time exactly the freaking bustard actually got on stage since we were long gone..I guess this live was targeting tee...
